<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the color of an edge portion of an image after rendering from becoming unnatural when a source image includes the edge whoseα-value changes a great deal in carrying out rendering by jointly using bilinear filter processing andα-blending. <P>SOLUTION: A bilinear filter 1 multiplies each source color value of four source pixels surrounding an interpolation point in a source image, by eachα-value and applying bilinear filter processing to four source color values afterα-value multiplication to compute an interpolation point source color value, and applies bilinear filter processing to fourα-values to compute an interpolation point sourceα-value.
