PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a BGM volume control device for an elevator car capable of finely controlling the volume of BGM in response to the structure of a car to prevent the BGM from being felt harsh. SOLUTION: This BGM volume control device includes: a car 1 of an elevator; a car-inside speaker 2 for announcing to guide passengers and for sounding BGM (background music); microphones 3-5 and 7 provided inside and outside the car, a hoistway and elevator landings to measure the background noise to use a result of the measurement to control the announce volume; and an automatic BGM volume control device 9 for controlling the volume of the BGM sounding from the speaker inside the car. The automatic BGM volume control device obtains information about the elevator and information about a building provided with the elevator from an information center 15 through an elevator control device 11 or a communication control device 13, and sets the BGM volume obtained from a volume control map previously set based on the obtained elevator information and the building information.
