PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electrolytic capacitor which is easy to manufacture and improved in solder wettability of a lower-surface electrode. SOLUTION: The solid electrolytic capacitor has an anode terminal 3 composed of a first anode portion 31 and a second anode portion 32 formed on an upper surface 51 and a lower surface 52 of an insulating substrate 5, and an anode conductive layer 33 formed on a side end surface of the insulating substrate 5 and electrically connecting the first anode portion 31 and second anode portion 32 to each other, and a cathode terminal 4 composed of a first cathode portion 41 and a second cathode portion 42 formed on the upper surface 51 and lower surface 52 of the insulating substrate 5, and a cathode conductive layer 43 formed on the side end surface of the insulating substrate 5 and electrically connecting the first cathode portion 41 and second cathode portion 42 to each other. An anode portion 1a and a cathode portion 1b of a capacitor element 1 are electrically connected to the first anode portion 31 and first cathode portion 41 respectively, the second anode portion 32 and second cathode portion 42 are exposed from an external-layer resin 2, and the anode conductive layer 33 and cathode conductive layer 43 are exposed from the external-layer resin 2.
