Disclosed is a moisturizing agent comprising a copolymer represented by formula (1).  [In formula (1), A represents a substituent containing an oligosaccharide composed of 2 to 6 monosaccharide molecules bound to each other; B represents a group represented by formula (2); m and n represent numbers which meet the following equation m:n = 9:1 to 1:9; and Z represents a hydrogen group, a methyl group or an ethyl group.]  [In formula (2), X represents a saturated or unsaturated monocyclic or dicyclic ring having 5 to 10 ring-constituting members, or a molecule containing a nitrogen or an oxygen, provided that the ring may contain 1 to 3 atoms independently selected from the group consisting of a nitrogen, a sulfur and an oxygen; n represents a number of 0 or 1; Y represents -NHCO-, -CONH-, -NHCONH-, -NH-, -CO, or an alkyl group having 0 or more carbon atoms; and R represents a linear or branched alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl having 1 to 20 carbon atoms which, if required, may be substituted by one or two hydroxy, mercapto, amino, cyano, heterocyclyl, heterocyclyloxy, phenyl, benzyl, heteroaryl, phenoxy, benzyloxy or heteroaryloxy groups.]
