摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time required for detecting discharge, to improve user's convenience, and to reduce damage of a photoreceptor drum due to discharge so as to reduce influence upon printing quality even if detection of discharge is frequently performed. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming part 3 including the photoreceptor drum 9, a developing roller 81, and a mark member 91 for finding a rotating position; a sensor 92 for measuring the mark member 91; an AC voltage applying part 86 for applying voltage to the developing roller 81; a detection part 14 for detecting generation of discharge between the developing roller and the photoreceptor drum; a motor for rotating the photoreceptor drum 9 and the developing roller 81; a controller 10; and a storage part 12 for storing rotating position data showing the rotating position of the photoreceptor drum 9 and the developing roller 81 where a gap is the shortest. When detecting discharge, the controller 10 sets the rotating position of the photoreceptor drum 9 and the developing roller 81 as a position where the gap is the shortest, and then it changes peak-to-peak voltage stepwise so as to detect discharge. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
