PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jetting device that highly accurately detects that a remaining quantity of liquid stored in a liquid storing member has become small, and to provide a method for controlling a liquid jetting device. SOLUTION: The liquid jetting device includes: an ink speed measuring section 7 that detects the flying speed Vm of ink jetted from the nozzle 47 of a recording head 3; an end determination means for determining, based on a change in the flying speed of the ink detected by the ink speed measuring section 7, whether the remaining quantity of ink stored in an ink pack 52 has reached a predetermined remaining quantity indicating end.
