A fabric based apparel, kit and method for its use and manufacture are disclosed and described. The kit for making a decorative article of clothing may include a fabric suitable for receiving decorative embellishments and artistic implements. The fabric may be flexible, colorfast for marking pen ink, colorfast for wax-based pigments, and colorfast for paint, suitable for receiving adhesives for attaching decorative embellishments, sewable, and substantially smooth. The fabric may also be configured and arranged in apparel form and suitable to be worn by a person. The kit may also include a set of decorative embellishments or a set of artistic implements for drawing or painting on the article of clothing. The decorative embellishments or artistic implements may be affixed by a user to the article of clothing to enhance and develop the creative expression of the user.
