PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic control device for a multistage automatic transmission that improves efficiency of an automatic transmission by reducing the flow rate consumption of oil of a linear solenoid valve. SOLUTION: Source-pressure-supply-circuits a, a<SB>1</SB>, a<SB>4</SB>, a<SB>6</SB>, a<SB>12</SB>to a linear solenoid valve SL3 not used during a garage shift include director switching valves 36 at the middle portions thereof. The director switching valves 36 are configured to switch their positions among P, R, N range times, a frist advancing-speed-stage engine brake time, and a D range time other than the above. In the P, R, and N range times in which input rotational speed from the engine is low, source-pressure-supply oil passages a, a<SB>1</SB>, a<SB>4</SB>, a<SB>6</SB>, a<SB>12</SB>are cut-off by the director switching valves 36, and supply of the source pressure (line pressure) to the input port SL3a of the linear solenoid valve SL3 is cut-off.
