In the field of communications technologies, a method, a system, and a board of supporting hot swap are provided. The method includes: detecting, by a front board, a state of handle of a rear transmission module (RTM) connected to the front board, and controlling whether to output a load power to the RTM according to a detection result. The system includes a front board and an RTM connected to the front board. The board includes a control module and an RTM power module connected to the control module. Through the technical solutions, the hot swap of the RTM is realized, and the load powers for the front board and the RTM are respectively managed, without interrupting the service of the front board during plugging and unplugging procedures of the RTM, thereby improving maintainability of the RTM.
