<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microstrip antenna capable of dealing with multiple frequencies and controlling directivity, and having a wide corresponding variable frequency band, and to provide a radio module, a radio system and a method of controlling the microstrip antenna. <P>SOLUTION: A base plate 1 is provided on a first substrate 8, a dielectric 2 is provided on the base plate 1, and a rectangular feeding element 3 and first parasitic elements 4 disposed in a matrix around the feeding element 3 are stacked on the top of the dielectric 2.
