PURPOSE: A surface mount type low resistance polymer PTC thermistor device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce the increasing rate of resistance after a trip test process by physically controlling the excessive expansion of a conductive polymer material. CONSTITUTION: An upper electrode material(210) and a lower electrode material(220) are made of a single metal foil among nickel, aluminum, copper, or copper alloy. A conductive polymer(100) is interposed between the upper electrode material and the lower electrode material. An upper terminal(300) includes a planar part and a bent part. A lower terminal(400) includes a support part and a protrusion. A coating layer(500) is formed in the upper electrode material, the lower electrode material, and the side of the conductive polymer. The coating layer is made of an epoxy coating material.
