H MODE DRIFT TUBE LINEAR ACCELERATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an H mode drift tube linear accelerator for preventing the deterioration in a Q value and an enlargement of a cavity vessel. SOLUTION: An exhaust port 6 is dividedly arranged on both sides of the ridge 3 in the peripheral direction of the vessel in an inner diameter range indicated by a broken line of an evacuation duct 7. The exhaust port 6 arranged on both sides of the ridge 3 is further divided into a plurality of exhaust ports 6 in the central axial direction of a cavity, and an inner wall surface of the vessel is left along the inner peripheral direction of the vessel between the divided exhaust ports 6 adjacent in the central axial direction of the exhaust ports 6. The left inner wall surface forms an electric current passage 14 of an electric current 11 flowing in the inner wall surface of the vessel. A lower part of the ridge 3 is also installed so as to have an electric contact surface with the inner wall surface of the vessel over the total length in the length direction.
