<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust a shoulder abutting angle of a massage means for the shoulder of a treated person, provided at a backrest part in a chair type massage machine, to an angle of preference. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A backrest part body 41 is disposed on the rear side of a seat part 2 for placing the buttocks of the treated person, and an auxiliary backrest part 42 is supported to the upper part of the backrest part body 41 longitudinally tiltable and adjustable in tilt angle to the backrest part body 41 through a tilt holding device 6. The massage means 7 is disposed at the auxiliary backrest part 42. The angle of the auxiliary backrest part 42 is adjusted relative to the backrest part body 41 to allow the massage means 7 on the auxiliary backrest part to change the angle abutting on the shoulder 91 of the treated person 9.
