摘要 Disclosed is a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which comprises a negative electrode that contains a negative electrode material for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having an electrode potential around 1.5 V based on lithium and a higher energy density, said electrode potential being equivalent to those of conventional titanic acid-based materials. The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises: a positive electrode that is capable of absorbing/desorbing lithium; a negative electrode which contains a negative electrode material comprising porous conductive particles and an active material which is provided either on the surfaces and/or inside of the pores of the porous conductive particles, has either a nanotube structure and/or a nanowire structure, and is composed of a lithium titanium complex oxide that is represented by the following general formula: LixTiO2 (wherein x satisfies 0 = x < 1); and a nonaqueous electrolyte.
