PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anode electrode catalyst of high catalyst activity with less poisoning by carbon monoxide, etc. in a fuel cell using a carbon compound as a fuel.
SOLUTION: A platinum oxide (PtOx), wherein x is 0.5 or less, is used for the anode electrode catalyst. The platinum oxide is prepared by using a physical vapor deposition (PVD) and a chemical vapor deposition (CVD). Alternatively, the platinum oxide may be prepared by electrolytic-reducing or hydrogen-reducing a platinum oxide of higher oxygen ratio prepared by reduction of a platinic acid, etc. The platinum oxide becomes the anode electrode catalyst having superior methanol oxide characteristics by a very simple manufacturing method.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
|
