PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce to the minimum the number of electronic components which become useless at the time of tape setting even in a method of making a cover tape peeled off by a peeling portion intersect with a carrier tape and ejecting it downward. SOLUTION: In a tape feeder 1, the cover tape 4 is peeled from the carrier tape 2 by a peeling portion 5, an electronic component is exposed and supplied to a pick-up position, the peeled cover tape is made to intersect with the carrier tape in a midstream and guided downward by a first guide 7 above the carrier tape at the upstream side of the peeling portion, and the cover tape is ejected by ejecting means 10. The tape feeder 1 includes a second guide 8 for guiding the cover tape guided by the first guide and a third guide 9 for guiding the cover tape guided by the second guide to the ejecting means. The second guide is arranged in such a manner that a guide surface which comes into contact with the tape surface of the cover tape and guides the cover tape is inclined relative to the feeding direction of the carrier tape.
