PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use the fewest imaging devices as possible, and to minimize an influence of a viewing angle characteristic in the case where a liquid crystal panel is inspected by using a plurality of imaging devices. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal panel 10 to be inspected has a rectangular shaped display screen 12. The sides of the rectangular shape are respectively extended in an X direction and in a Y direction, and a Z direction is parallel to a normal line 14 of the display screen. The viewing angle characteristic in the X-Y plane is symmetric with respect to the normal line, but that in the Y-Z plane is asymmetric with respect to the normal line. Imaging devices 40, 42 juxtaposed along the Y direction is larger in number than imaging devices juxtaposed along the X direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
