A printhead assembly includes an elongate ink distribution arrangement defining a number of inlets, a number of corresponding ink distribution channels, and a number of outlets in fluid communication with respective ink distribution channels; an elongate ink distribution assembly mounted in the ink distribution arrangement, the ink distribution assembly having a plurality of layers together forming a stack, and a plurality of ink passages in fluid communication with respective ink distribution channels of the ink distribution arrangement; and a printhead integrated circuit mounted to the elongate ink distribution assembly to receive ink from the ink passages. The stack defines a plurality of inlets in fluid communication with the outlets of the ink distribution arrangement. The elongate ink distribution assembly defines mounting formations, into which the ink passages open, and to which the printhead integrated circuit is mounted. The elongate ink distribution arrangement defines a plurality of ink crossover channels defined over and across the ink distribution channels, the ink crossover channels connecting the inlets to respective ink distribution channels.
