The alternating current from an AC power supply (AC) is converted to a direct current by a rectifier (RF1), the direct current is converted to an alternating current by an inverter (INV) and transformed by a transformer (TF), the output of the transformer (TF) is rectified to a direct current by a rectifier (RF2), and then a battery (B) is charged with the direct current. An AC reactor (ACL) is connected in parallel to the primary side of the transformer (TF), the value and the positive/negative polarity of the current flowing through the ACL is detected by a current detector (CS), a detection signal (d) is outputted therefrom, and an integrated signal (s (sd)) is obtained by integrating the detection signal (d). As the occurrence of the integrated signal (s (sd)) enables detection of the occurrence of a DC voltage, an inverter pulse generator (3) adjusts the width of a conduction pulse signal to be supplied to each switching element of the inverter (INV) so as to reduce the DC voltage. This prevents occurrence of biased magnetization at the transformer.
|
