PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct a red-eye image with a small-capacity image memory. SOLUTION: A user is allowed to set the resolution of a reference image to low resolution, normal resolution or high resolution. A type of an image to be displayed on a display screen of a display is changed in accordance with the resolution set by the user (step 111). When the low resolution is set (step 112), since the number of pixels (amount of image data) of the reference image is decreased, an image memory can store reference image data representing many frames of reference images. Therefore, red-eye collected/uncollected images in which a red-eye image portion is surrounded by a frame can be displayed. When the normal resolution is set (step 119), both an uncorrected image in which the red-eye image portion is not surrounded by a frame and a corrected image in which a corrected red-eye image portion is surrounded with a frame can be displayed.
