<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain character reading performance, and also, sufficiently suppress consumption of a color material. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing device 10 for processing image data is used for a printing system 1 having a regular mode to print image of image data using toner and a saving mode to print the image while suppressing the toner consumption more than in the regular mode. The image processing device 10 includes a color material amount suppression part 12 that is configured to, in the saving mode, perform the image processing of the image data so that the toner consumption can be suppressed more than in the regular mode.
