摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging system for an electric vehicle that allows a maximum current capacity during charging to be determined on the side of a vehicle-mounted charger in accordance with capability of the power supply side, supplying power to the vehicle-mounted charger, so as to reduce the charging time by maximally utilizing the capability of the power supply side. SOLUTION: The charging system for the electric vehicle includes a charging outlet 3 for an electric vehicle, a vehicle-mounted charger 8, a battery 6, and an outlet plug 7. In the system, an information providing device 4 is provided on the side of the charging outlet 3 while an information reading device 10 and a control device 11 are provided on the side of the vehicle-mounted charger 8. The information providing device provides information such as an allowable current capacity. The information reading device reads information provided by the information providing device 4.
