PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design support device capable of easily and speedily predicting a printing position. SOLUTION: The design support device 50 includes: a parameter input unit 10 which inputs a parameter related to a design specification of an image forming apparatus; a behavior arithmetic unit 11 which calculates a temporal change of a moving quantity of the exposing surface of a photoreceptor drum using the parameter; a printing position arithmetic unit 12 which calculates a transfer time required for the movement of a latent image from an exposing point to a transfer point based on the calculated temporal change the moving quantity, and calculates a printing position on transfer paper based on the transfer time; and an output unit 13 which outputs the calculated printing position. The behavior arithmetic unit 11 corrects the temporal change of the moving quantity based on the fluctuation quantity of the transfer position. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
