METHOD OF MEASURING REACTION AMOUNT OF SILANE COUPLING AGENT IN SILICA BLENDING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of measuring a reaction amount of silane coupling agent to be added in silica blending. SOLUTION: Un-vulcanized rubber composition produced by adding silica and silane coupling agent to a rubber component and blending them is extended in a sheet shape. Un-reacted silane coupling agent contained in the rubber composition is extracted by applying extracting processing to the rubber composition with a solvent. The content of reacted silane coupling agent is determined by quantitatively determining the amount of sulfur contained in the extracted rubber composition. The reaction rate of the silane coupling agent is determined by comparing the content of the determined reacted silane coupling agent with the blending amount of the silane coupling agent.
