The method involves transmitting voice data in data frames (10) using a transmitter. The data frames are provided with a section (15) for receiving the voice data. Voice pause is detected using a detecting circuit if received signals are not provided with voice signal for a shortest duration. The length of the data frame section is reduced by a controller when the voice pause is detected. Another section (14) of the data frames is marked when the length of the former section is reduced. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for receiving voice data (2) a device for transmitting voice data (3) a device for receiving voice data.
