PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute computer tomography with higher spatial resolution in the slice direction (the direction z) while restricting the exposure of a subject, using a multi-slice type X-ray computer tomography apparatus. SOLUTION: The rotary part of a scanning gantry is rotated around the subject to collect the projection data for a prescribed angle range, i.e.,π+(fan angle) to 2π+(fan angle). During the data collection, the scanning gantry is moved relative to the subject by a very small distance D equivalent to the width d of one detector row of X-ray detector.
