Disclosed is a stable and soluble antibody or antibody derivative which specifically binds TNF-alpha. The disclosed antibody or antibody derivative comprises specific light chain and heavy chain variable domains, wherein, in the case of a derived sequence said sequence has at maximum up to five amino acid substitutions within the framework of said specific light chain variable region and/or at maximum up to nine amino acid substitutions within the framework of said specific heavy chain variable region. Also disclosed are DNA sequences, expression vectors, hosts cells, methods of production, compositions, and uses encompassing said antibody.
