<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous heat treatment device for a metal wire rod which can prevent the generation of fracture even in the case a metal wire rod with small diameter is treated, and also, does not generate scratches and abrasions on the surface. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A furnace core tube 15 composing a heat treatment furnace 13 in a continuous heat treatment device is arranged vertically to the surface of the ground, and, in the upper side of the furnace core tube 15, a winding coil 12 or the like is disposed, and further, in the lower side of the furnace core tube 15, instead of a roller, a supporting apparatus such as a fiber tube 20 is installed, respectively. In this way, the tension applied to a metal wire rod 18 carried inside the furnace core tube 15 can be reduced to the size smallest for conveying the metal wire rod 18 without being contacted with the inside of the furnace core tube 15.
