PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gasification apparatus reducing soot, tar and the like in a water storage tank which are to be returned to a scrubber. SOLUTION: The gasification apparatus 1 includes a gasification furnace 20 which gasifies a fuel, a scrubber 50 which washes a gas from the gasification furnace 20 with a circulating water, and a water storage tank 60 which holds the circulating water to be supplied to the scrubber 50. A water-supply pipe 52 which supplies circulating water in the water storage tank 60 to the scrubber 50 stands on one side in the water storage tank 60, and a water-drain pipe 53 through which a circulating water in the scrubber 50 is discharged into the water storage tank 60 stands the other side in the water storage tank 60, and a pair of partition plates 63, 64 stand between the water-supply pipe 52 and the water-drain pipe 53 in the water storage tank 60.
