PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a work burden on a user for management of reception data stored in a memory. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 101 receives image data such as FAX data using a receiving means and stores the received image data in a memory. The image forming apparatus 101 prints the image data stored in the memory on paper or the like using a printing means and reads a printed surface using an image reading means. In the case where a matching rate between the printed surface read by the reading means and the image data stored in the memory is equal to or higher than a predetermined value, the image data are erased from the memory.
