PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmitting device capable of surely and quickly transmitting power and enabled to be miniaturized. SOLUTION: This power transmitting device 1, which transmits and cut off power from a second clutch 20 structured as a one-way clutch, can switch transmission and cut-off of the power in response to a difference between the power input from an input shaft 2 and the power input from an output shaft 6. Consequently, transmission of power can be surely performed without receiving an influence to a difference of rotation between the input shaft 2 and the output shaft 6. Transmission of power can be quickly performed without causing ratcheting like a dog clutch. Since transmission and cut-off of power can be necessarily switched, an actuator for engaging a dog in the case of a dog clutch is unnecessary, and by a space for the actuator, the device can be miniaturized.
