PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a method for controlling broadcast thereof are provided to efficiently control the use of the broadcasting contents in an IPTV through a mobile terminal by using an authentication unit of the mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(180) registers a mobile terminal(100) as an authentication unit of an age-limited broadcasting contents of an IPTV(Internet Protocol Television) terminal. If the use of the age-limited broadcasting contents is selected through the IPTV terminal, a wireless communication unit(110) receives an authentication request signal for a use right of the age-limited broadcasting contents under the control of the controller. The wireless communication unit transmits usage right authentication information of the age-limited broadcasting contents to the IPTV terminal.
