PURPOSE: A composition containing pH indication dye compound for detecting melamine is provided to easily and cheaply detect melamine without water affect. CONSTITUTION: A composition for detecting melamin contains pH indication dye compound of chlorophenol red, bromocresol green, bromocresol purple, bromocresol blue or methyl red. The composition is used for detecting melamin contained in foods. A sensor for detecting melamin contains the composition for detecting melamin and polymer support supporting the composition. The polymer support is PVDF, PVDF-HFP, PSf or PAN molded from hydrophobic polymer. The sensor is a sensor array form.
