PURPOSE: A composition containing pachastrissamine for preventing and treating hyperproliferative dermatitis is provided to induce apoptosis of hyperproliferative cells and to suppress cell cycle of the hyperproliferative cells. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating hyperproliferative dermatitis contains pachastrissamine of chemical formula 1 or pharmaceutically acceptable salt as an active ingredient. The pachastrissamine is isolated/purified from marine sponge Pachastrissa and extracted using water, ethanol, methanol acetone, ethyl acetate, n-hexane, diethylether, acetone, or benzene. The hyperproliferative dermatitis includes skin cancer, psoriasis, ichythyosis, Bowen's disease, papilloma, eczema, atopic dermatitis, acne vulgaris, seborrhoeic dermatitis, lichen planus, licheniasis striatus, family imposition keratosis, seborrheic keratosis, or actinic keratosis.
