PURPOSE: A dryer having a weight detection device and a method for controlling dryer using the same are provided to exactly measure the weight of laundry without the influence of a mount on the rotation of a roller. CONSTITUTION: A dryer having a weight detection device comprises a housing(10), a drum(20), a heater, and a detecting device. The drum is pivotally installed within the housing. Laundry is accepted into the drum. The heater supplies hot air to the drum to dry the laundry. The detecting device senses the weight of the laundry accepted in the drum. The detecting device predicts the drying time based on the weight. |
