PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for reducing power consumption is an electronic appliance is provided to maintain the readability of a user by dividing image data and correcting the brightness for each application. CONSTITUTION: Specific image data is divided from whole image data according to an application(510). The brightness of each image data is corrected to a pre-set brightness(520). The corrected image data for each application is integrated into whole image data(530). Driving power is controlled in order to display the integrated image data(540).
