PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a blade for a turbomachine by superplastic forming and diffusion bonding a first layer, a second layer and a membrane, the membrane being disposed between the first and second layers. SOLUTION: A diffusion bonding stop-off material is applied in a first predetermined pattern between the first layer 16 and the membrane 2 and then, the diffusion bonding stop-off material is applied in a second predetermined pattern between the second layer 18 and the membrane 2. The first layer, the second layer and the membrane are subsequently diffusion bonded into one integrated structure, with pressurized fluid supplied for superplastic forming.
