<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronically controlled valve driving device for an internal combustion engine capable of suppressing the generation of a cavitation and/or erosion of a high pressure piping system and enhancing the fuel consumption greatly by precluding exhaustion of the hydraulic power generated in a high pressure pipe. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electronically controlled valve driving device of the internal combustion engine includes a hydraulic piston 22 installed at a valve 21 accommodated in the valve driving device 20 for opening the valve 21, an oil pressure generating means 33 to supply oil pressure to the hydraulic piston 22, a hydraulic actuator 25 interposed between the oil pressure generating means and the hydraulic piston for driving the piston with the oil pressure supplied from the oil pressure generating means, a direction control valve 31 installed at the hydraulic actuator for supplying the oil pressure given by the oil pressure generating means 33 to the hydraulic actuator and discharging the oil pressure discharged from the hydraulic actuator to a low pressure part 37, a solenoid valve 32 installed separately from the direction control valve for controlling the switching operation of the direction control valve, and a high pressure pipe 63 to connect the oil pressure generating means with the direction control valve.
