The tray has a gate (4) integrated with a vat (5) that is arranged in a cavity (1). The gate is movable with respect to the cavity between an obturation position of a main opening (3) and release position of the main opening, so that a front part (7) of an upper opening (6) of the vat is fixed outside the cavity. A lid (11) is articulated and integrated with the vat and connected to an upper edge (10) of a rear wall (9) of the vat by an articulation (12). The lid obturates a rear part (8) of the upper opening of the vat irrespective of the obturation position or release position of the gate. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a vat of a parcel tray for a motor vehicle.
