PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a robot device capable of flexibly executing a desired operation, while suppressing power consumption amount, and a method of controlling the same. SOLUTION: This robot device 101 includes a robot mechanism 110 having a plurality of joints and a plurality of actuators 109 for driving a joint shaft of the robot mechanism 110. The robot device 101 includes a robot control device 102 for flexibly controlling driving of the actuator 109 based on an evaluation function to be a function of a torque command to the actuator 109.
