<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection device suppressing a harmful influence of fuel injection caused by a shock generated when an injection control valve advances to a first position and abuts on a nozzle body at the circumference edge of a third fuel passage. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The fuel injection device 1 includes the nozzle body 40 and the injection control valve 20 capable of advancing and retreating in a first fuel housing chamber 41. The injection control valve 20 provides communication between a first fuel passage 51 and the first fuel housing chamber 41 and shuts off communication between the first fuel housing chamber 41 and the third fuel passage 53 by advancing to a first position, and shuts off communication between the first fuel passage 51 and the first fuel housing chamber 41 and provides communication between the first fuel housing chamber 41 and the third fuel passage 53 by retreating to a second position.
