<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of maximally avoiding inconvenience of erroneously detecting that a recording sheet fed as a first sheet as a paper jam after completing pushing-up of the recording sheet. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This image forming device is provided for transferring a toner image on the recording sheet S by feeding the recording sheet S pushed up by a pushing-up plate 31 one by one based on rotation of a paper feeding roller 32. Time until a sheet detecting sensor SE4 detects the recording sheet is measured from a start of paper feeding, and whether or not to be the paper jam is determined based on the measured time and a predetermined reference time. A paper jam determining means has a first reference time being a judging criterion when feeding the recording sheet S of a first sheet after completing the pushing-up of the recording sheet S and a second reference time being a judging criterion when feeding the recording sheet on an after a second sheet, and the first reference time is set longer than the second reference time.
