PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make proper and perfect the charging control of a packet data service. SOLUTION: A method for controlling the charging of a packet data service includes: monitoring a number of event triggers; and transmitting, when one of generation conditions of the event triggers is satisfied, a charging rule request from a Traffic Plane Function (TPF) to a Charging Rule Function (CRF). The event triggers, which the TPF is required for requesting charging rules from the CRF according to, are set by the CRF and then are provided to the TPF. Charging-relevant input information is provided in the request, and the CRF determines proper charging rules based on this, and sends the determined charging rules to the TPF. Thus, it is possible to control the timing that the TPF requests the charging rules from the CRF, and to avoid redundant information caused by the unnecessary charging rule from the TPF.
