<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably obtain a highly precise optical component by molding the chamfering part of an optical element when molding without worsening eccentric precision. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a molding block 10 for the optical element to mold the optical element by pressing a thermoplastic material 9 with a lower die 11 and an upper die 12 arranged to be opposed in a sleeve 13, a first ring member 14 being intercalated at the inner periphery of the sleeve 13, being placed on the lower die 11 and transferring the chamfering part of the thermoplastic material 9 is provided. In the first ring member 14, an inclined surface 14a inclined to the center axis X of the first ring member 14 and a vertical surface 14b lengthening to the center axis X of the first ring member 14 are located and the chamfering part is molded by transferring the inclined surface 14a and the vertical surface 14b to the thermoplastic material 9.
