<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressurizing device for horizontal pressure calibration which is disposed between both rolling stock rails for horizontal pressure calibration, which is of a rod telescoping type in which the rails are pushed outward by the extension of the rod, and which does not need to detach guard rails when performing a lateral pressure calibration operation at positions where the guard rails are disposed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Guard rail avoidance members 25A, 25B which are disassemblable and assemblable are provided to a rod intermediate part so as to surround guard rails 40A, 40B to avoid the guard rails 40A, 40B which are disposed along the insides of rails 10A, 10B so that a load can be transmitted between the rails 10A, 10B. By disassembling the guard rail avoidance members 25A, 25B in this state, the guard rail avoidance members can be removed from between the rails 10A, 10B. Load sensors 22A, 22B are attached to the outer surfaces of the guard rail avoidance members 25A, 25B, respectively, press the head side surfaces of the rails 10A, 10B, respectively, and directly measure pressing loads.
