<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base unit for constructing a honeycomb structure which has excellent working efficiency at site and can form a rigid area at the tip of a hexagonal frame, and a construction method for the honeycomb structure. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This base unit (U) used for constructing a honeycomb building structure (100) includes the first and second rigid areas (2a, 2b) which are formed of structural members and form the ends of one of the horizontal sides of the hexagonal frame, a beam (1) forming the portion between the first and second rigid areas, and four sloped poles (3a, 4a, 3b, 4b) which extend from the rigid areas diagonally upward and diagonally downward, respectively, and form the portions up to the center points of the sloped sides, respectively. When the two base units are stacked vertically, the upper sloped pole of the base unit positioned on the lower side and the lower sloped pole of the base unit positioned on the upper side can be joined to each other.
