<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens driving device having drive current-displacement characteristic excellent in linearity and proper displacement sensitivity, while applying a proper offset amount corresponding to a spring member according to reduction in size. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The lens driving device is configured so that a case 16 holding a yoke 11 having a permanent magnet 12 attached to the inner peripheral side thereof and a lens holder 14 having a driving coil 15 attached to the outer circumferential side wall thereof are connected by upper and lower spring members 17A and 17B, and the lens holder 14 comes into contact with the case 16 on the side opposite to an object when power is not supplied to the driving coil 15. In the driving device 10, the position in the Z-axis direction of the driving coil 15 is set within a range where the strength of a driving magnetic field crossing the driving coil 15 when the lens holder 14 is in contact with the case 16 is 50 to 90% of the maximum value of the driving magnetic field crossing the driving coil when the lens holder 14 is moved to the side of the object.
