摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of driving an electrophoretic display device, which hardly brings about persistence while suppressing unnecessary power consumption. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method of driving the electrophoretic device includes: a display area including electrophoretic elements wherein a dispersion system containing electrophoretic particles is interposed between a common electrode and a pixel electrode; a driving means which applies voltages to the electrophoretic elements to drive the electrophoretic elements; and a control means which controls the driving means. The display area includes two or more kinds of display units to be rewritten at different rewrite intervals. When an image is rewritten, the control means controls the driving means to apply a higher voltage to electrophoretic elements included in a display unit having a longer rewrite interval.
