PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher, suitably performing washing according to the dirt of materials to be washed while accurately detecting the turbidity of washing water. SOLUTION: A storing part for storing washing water is formed at the lower part of a washing vessel 2 for storing the materials to be washed. A plurality of washing nozzles 3, 4, 7, 5 are provided in the washing vessel 2. The washing water stored in the storing part is supplied to the respective nozzles 3, 4, 7, 5 one after the other. A turbidity detecting part 60 is provided at a position higher than the highest water level of the washing water stored in the storing part in the washing vessel 2. The turbidity detecting part 60 detects the turbidity of washing water supplied to one washing nozzle 5 out of the plurality of washing nozzles 3, 4, 7, 5. According to the detected turbidity of the washing water, the timing of supplying the washing water to the washing nozzle 5 is determined and the washing conditions for the materials 10 to be washed are adjusted.
