<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a headup display device at low cost, capable of improving a layout design in an instrument panel while preventing the display surface from being glared by extraneous light. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This headup display device includes a projector 32 which projects a display image to be displayed on the windshield 11 of a vehicle, a housing 23 which stores the projector 32 and has an upper opening 22 on a course for the projected light from the projector 32, a cover member 30 which closes the upper opening 22 and allows the projected light from the projector 32 to pass therethrough, and an intercepting part for intercepting the light path through which the incident light emitted from the outside of the vehicle passes through a predetermined eyellipse on the driver's seat side after being reflected on the cover member 30 and the windshield 11.
